I Putu Sudiana is from
Balinese origin. His paintings are inspired by human activity and
nature. Although abstract styles dominate his works, these themes
are easily understood, if for no other reason than through the intrigue
and enjoyment they conjure.
His paintings lead you on a
journey full of colour, pattern, emotion and meditation. Whilst at
times appearing naive like a child, he maintains an intricate sensitivity
that is clever and pleasurable. His humbleness and big heart are
just a few of this artist's qualities. The process of his soul
maturing and his absorption into the artistic world will only add and
contribute to these qualities. We should feel glad and honoured that
a young successful painter from far off Indonesia who has already acquired
acclaim in other parts of Europe, has accepted to grace our Maltese
