Ray Azzopardi’s first interest in art was when he started taking part in collective exhibitions as an artist in the 1980’s.  He soon found a preference to using wood as his medium and by 1987 he was a fully fledged wood sculpture.  His forte in using wood is actually using the vein of wood to bring out the features in a particular work.  Besides many displays in Malta, he has also participated in an exhibition in Heidleberg, German as well as in Sicily.
